Job Description
Works closely with the product manager, business analyst, technical lead and engineers to ensure their assigned Agile scrum teams make good user-centered design decisions. This role is a generalist role that will require contribution across a broad spectrum of research, design and facilitation activities. It also serves as a mentor and project manager within the UX team.
Serve as the resident UX expert for assigned Agile scrum teams by contributing to grooming and estimation discussions, participating in standups, demos, retrospectives, and PO reviews, assisting Product Management with translating UX vision into clear and meaningful user stories and providing knowledge of UX principles to both technical and non-technical team members.
Create user flows, sketches, wireframes, high fidelity mocks, prototypes and/or production-ready front-end code to define the user experience of new features and enhancements for assigned products.
Be a leader in fostering a healthy design culture by facilitating UX team critiques, training, and other meetings, collaborating on UX team projects and sharing knowledge through presentations.
Lead research efforts by facilitating design workshops with product stakeholders and conducting user tests to develop a rich understanding of the product and provide Product Management with research-based concepts.
Mentor junior UX team members by pairing on design efforts and providing guidance and direction on best UX practices and visual standards.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors and 3+ years of experience or HS/GED 7+ years of experience
3+ years of experience designing interfaces for desktop, web, or mobile software applications
1+ years of experience in Information Architecture
1+ years of experience in Usability evaluation/testing
3+ years of experience in rapid prototyping and wire framing
1+ years of experience in user research to include interviews, synthesizing of data, empathy mapping and analytics
3+ years of experience working on multiple complex projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills, critical thinking & problem solving a must
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors in Liberal arts, computer science, or mathematics
6+ years designing interfaces for desktop, web, or mobile software applications
6+ years exhibiting strong communication skills, critical thinking & problem solving
1+ years of basic front end engineering knowledge
