Senior Lean Engineer

The Senior Lean Process Engineer leads, manages and guides the lean manufacturing evolution at the plant level and across global processes. This role integrates the Deluxe Lean Enterprise System to develop and deploy lean knowledge, culture, principles, tools and techniques primarily within the plant and across the Fulfillment Organization as applicable. This position is a key leadership partner with the Director of Manufacturing Operations in achieving site level KPIs, leads rapid change, and supports a growing and dynamic manufacturing site.
Develop strategy for implementation of Lean Enterprise with senior management teams at designated job site. Evaluate and prioritize needs based on input from various groups of stakeholders within the organization.
Create and maintain a Lean toolkit that can include: 5S, Kaizen quick change over, value stream mapping, mistake proofing and line balancing
Assist employees at all levels with implementation of all elements of the Lean Enterprise. This includes strong technical direction as well as providing resource and organizational support when needed. Facilitate learning activities (kaizen blitzes, action plan reviews) within the plant
Identify, coordinate, and initiate process improvements with the production and associated shared support functions
Develop and facilitate joint projects with customers and suppliers as needed to support key product-based value streams
Basic Qualifications:
Education Bachelors in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
Experience 5 years of manufacturing experience driving continuous process improvements
Experience in the use and training of lean methodologies including VSM, kaizen events, Kanban design, 5S, quick changeover, mistake proofing
Strong achievement orientation; demonstrates strong personal drive, initiative and persistence; is motivated by challenges and determined in the face of setbacks
Strong interpersonal skills; develops and maintains effective working relationships with a diverse spectrum of people/customers (ex. Leadership, peers, internal and external customers)
Ability to drive cultural change; challenges the status quo and looks for ways to improve team and organizational performance; champions new initiatives and inspires others to make changes
Ability to analyze problems and make decisions; effectively analyzes issues and makes sound, logical business decisions in a timely manner
Strong Excel abilities; proficiency with Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word)
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Education Bachelors in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 6 years of manufacturing experience driving continuous process improvements
Six Sigma training and /or experience
Project management experience
