The Information Security Analyst 1 will plan, implement, and monitor security protocols for the protection of the organization’s computer networks and information. Secondarily, the Security Analyst will be expected to gather evidence in relation to various audit requests. Additionally, the Security Analyst is expected to interface with peers in the Systems, Network, and Development departments as well as with senior members of the business in order to share the corporate security vision and to solicit their involvement in achieving higher levels of enterprise security through information sharing and co-operation.
Monitor and work alerts in various security tools daily to ensure compliance and lower vulnerability risks
Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data residing on or transmitted to/from/through enterprise workstations, servers and other systems and in databases and other data repositories.
Support the security engineering processes
Participate in the creation of enterprise security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures) under the direction of the Manager Information Security and Compliance, where appropriate
Engage in ongoing communications with peers in the Systems and Networking groups as well as the various business groups to ensure enterprise wide understanding of security goals, to solicit feedback and to foster co-operation
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field and some experience in Information Technology or Information Security;
or Associates Degree in Information Technology or related field, and 2 years of experience in Information Technology or Information Security
Understanding of TCP/IP, routers, switches, IDS/IPS
Understanding of Endpoint security solutions, including file integrity monitoring and data loss prevention
Understanding of Operating systems, files systems, and memory on Windows, macOS and Linux
Understanding of SIEM, incident response, threat intelligence or the analysis of network or host-based security events. Working knowledge of anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls, and content filtering.
Experience conducting vulnerability assessment, with the intent to reduce IT risk.
Experience in conducting “threat hunting” and finding suspicious behavior proactively and iteratively in the networks
Experience with CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
Highly self-motivated and attention to detail
Demonstrates solid judgment in following methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
