This is a flexible Hybrid role and we are seeking candidates in the greater Minneapolis or Atlanta areas.
The Corporate Accounting Reconciliation Lead will be an integral team member within the Corporate Accounting department, responsible for ensuring that Deluxe’s general ledger reconciliation process is completed in an accurate and timely manner. The Lead Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the reconciliation program, reviewing reconciliations prepared by the Corporate Accounting team, and supporting government surveys, other data requests, SOX and audits.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close by reviewing reconciliations prepared by the corporate accounting department.
Facilitate the overall company-wide reconciliation process. Ensures business unit finance partners are educated on the reconciliation requirements. Responsible for maintaining the system tool used for assignment and tracking of all balance sheet account reconciliations. Ensure account reconciliation policy and deadlines are adhered to and report summarized results to senior management.
Ensure the timely and accurate monthly corporate accounting close through effective coordination of processes and practices with team members while promoting strong fiscal period internal controls. Review corporate accounting team journal entries. Provide accounting support to the corporate accounting team (i.e. trouble shooting and resolving reconciliation issues).
Prepare and support audit and Sarbanes Oxley controls. Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and documented in compliance with SOX, perform related testing and communicate results through identified channels. Provides and implements recommendations for improvements to internal controls and policies.
Prepare and review government surveys and supports other financial data requests.
Basic Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s in accounting or related field and 5 years of Progressive accounting experience responsible for a major company or division of a large corporation or HS/GED and 9 years
Strong knowledge of US general accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Proficiency in SAP or larger ERP system
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
1+ years of public accounting firm or CPA (inactive) preferred
Ability to work under tight deadlines and collaborate with all levels of the organization
Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to confidently interact with and lead to achieve results with peers and management
Knowledge of risks and risk mitigation with ability to identify/articulate issues & resolutions
Demonstrate a commitment to documentation and process improvement for assigned areas
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
Efficient modeling capabilities and advanced knowledge of Excel with strong attention to detail
