Love it, it's been an exciting time at Deluxe.

Knowing I could help be a part of the gelling of Deluxe and all the potential that I had, that was a huge piece.

So, I did look around a little bit but then nothing quite felt right where deluxe just feels like home this is where I want to end up.

What we're really looking to do is ensure that deluxe has an environment of inclusiveness when people feel inclusive within the workplace, they generate more ideas a better product is put out.

Bring our backgrounds, bring in our cultures, meshing them all together and Deluxe is a place that doesn't necessarily have walls or ceilings, so it just incorporates our true identity as people to employees.

We have recently done the food drive and there were always at least like more than 10 people who will be interested and based on the capacity we can accommodate people go there and do the volunteering.

Deluxe really isn’t like any other company. They really care about you and they care about your career and your path moving forward they want you to excel they, they're gonna give you the tools and provide you with what you need to become a successful business professional.

Since day one when I started at Deluxe it has been such a friendly atmosphere.

The Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial information and lead the general accounting processes. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including consolidated month-end close as well as general ledger preparation, account reconciliations, accounting policies, year-end audit preparation, process improvements, internal control compliance, SOX, and the support of budget and forecast activities. This position will require a focus on coaching and professional development for a team of 7 direct reports. Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate monthly consolidated accounting close through effective coordination of processes and practices with division accounting teams while promoting strong fiscal period internal controls.

  • Subject matter expert on enterprise accounting policies to collaborate with the technical accounting team and other finance and accounting teams to understand, apply and provide advice on accounting and reporting issues that arise. Provide education, training, and support to business areas related to accounting policies.

  • Management of the account reconciliation policy, process and practices. Ensure account reconciliation policy and deadlines are adhered to and report summarized results to senior management.

  • Attract, recruit, and retain highly trained and motivated accounting staff.  Train, mentor and manage accounting staff. Establish and communicate clear performance expectations, provide feedback and conduct performance reviews.

  • Monitor and analyze department work to increase team efficiency while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Oversight of complex accounting activities, such as environmental reserve, pension benefit plans, inter-company transactions, consolidations, etc.

  • Establish and monitor processes and controls necessary to comply with SOX and internal control requirements and procedures related to accounting practices.  Coordinate internal and external audit activities.

  • Subject matter expert for ERP and other business system projects.

  • Maintain governance of general ledger chart of accounts, profit center & cost center structure, and user access to general ledger.

Basic Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Accounting and 5 years experience or HS/GED and 9 years experience in accounting. 

  • Proficient with various PC applications, database software knowledge and advanced spreadsheet skills.   Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • MBA and/or CPA


  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation

  • 5+ years of management experience (management of greater than 5 staff)

  • 3+ years of public accounting experience and CPA (inactive)

  • Strong knowledge of US general accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Proficiency in SAP or larger ERP system

  • Sound analytical and critical thinking skills with a strategic mindset

  • Ability to lead and effectively manage change in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to influence and challenge through effective verbal and written communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization

  • Self-starter with curiosity to dig into details and find solutions to reach objectives

  • Proven ability to develop employees

  • Strong relationship building skills and capability to build a support network

  • Efficient modeling capabilities and advanced knowledge of Excel with strong attention to detail
