The Senior Network Specialist provides advanced network technical expertise and timely support to ensure network stability, scalability and performance. The Senior Network Specialist role leads or partners with Systems Administrators and Architects to architect, plan and implement complex technical solutions. This will include design, testing, installation, integration, configuration, troubleshooting and day to day maintenance and support.

- Responsible for on-going maintenance of entire network infrastructure. Includes routers, switches, F5 appliances, security updates and other network assets such as Linux-based servers and tools.
- Assist in the successful installation, configuration and integration of new network infrastructure, such as routers,switches, and FlexPod compute infrastructure (Cisco UCS, Netapp storage arrays).
- Schedule after hours maintenance windows, coordinate partner notifications as well as coordinate internal QA department resources for any production changes.
- Provides troubleshooting expertise for system and/or network operating issues and ensures that any and all security threats and/or network attacks are appropriately mitigated.
- Monitor network performance using existing deployed tools and able to test and deploy new tools that maybe required to improve network visibility.
- Acts as a key technical escalation point for concerns and activities related to technical aspects of the network and operating systems. Determines, promptly, resolution of any technical issues impacting customers or other project related groups.
- Provides and maintains network documentation using tools such as Visio and Wiki ensuring department knowledge is always accessible to all team members.
- Work with external vendors and service providers to provide solutions for new projects or current issues.
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science
- 5+ years of experience in a Senior Network role
- 5+ years of direct hands on experience in a networking role.
- Minimum CCNP level networking knowledge.
- Advanced working knowledge of dynamic routing protocols within Cisco IOS(XE), IOS-XR, NX-OS operating systems.
- Advanced working knowledge of F5 load balancing or equivalent Application Delivery Controller experience.
- Hands on experience with IPSec, GRE and DMVPN tunneling technologies.
- Exceptional troubleshooting, investigation and problem solving skills, with ability to quickly identify and mitigate issues.
- Linux OS experience with ability to troubleshoot and deploy network monitoring tools within a Linux environment.
- Working knowledge of VMware virtual networking.
- Scripting experience or applied knowledge of network automation tools such as Ansible and/or Puppet.
- Ability to operate under deadlines, set priorities, and handle heavy workloads with minimal supervision.
