Description
The Compensation Consultant operates as a strategic business partner to high level management by anticipating, building, and implementing the most complex compensation strategies and programs. This role must have a high level of expertise in broad based compensation, incentive compensation, project management, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:
- Provides compensation expertise and project management leadership for the most complex client groups. This includes utilizing other team members, business line partners, and resources effectively for quality client results.
- Acts as a Sales Incentive Plan expert. Partners with and influences high level business leaders in this process ensuring desired plan results, the use of correct plan measures, legal compliance, and the delivery of fully completed on-time plan documents.
- Has the ability to successfully achieve deadlines when managing large complex projects in both scope and timeline.
- Serves as a high level connection between multiple business areas so that consistency in compensation approach and practice can be met.
- Has the ability to influence business leaders. This includes utilizing both data and trusted relationships so that the best possible outcome for Deluxe can be achieved.
- Partners with Human Resources in understanding organizational structures and roles; performs job evaluations, FLSA assessments, position description analysis and determines/recommends pay grades.
- Proactively identifies areas of improvement. Anticipates customer needs and is prepared to address them.
- Tracks and audits compensation programs, policies and practices to ensure continued integration with client and company requirements, as well as for external competitiveness, legal compliance, and cost effectiveness.
- Leads, conducts and/or contributes to company-wide programs working with internal parties and external vendors to ensure accurate, understandable and efficient materials and processes. Ensure effective and compliant operation. Keeps abreast of internal and external changes that would impact the programs. Develops and conducts formal and informal training and presentations as necessary.
- Works on merger and acquisitions projects during purchase and integration.
- Partners with Human Resources in understanding organizational structures and roles; performs job evaluations, FLSA assessments, position description analysis and determines/recommends pay grades.
- May serve as a lead to others in the department.
- Position may include other duties as determined by the company.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field
- 8 years of compensation experience
- CCP certification
- Proficiency in mathematics/statistics and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and HRIS (SAP) systems.
- Maintains confidentiality of highly sensitive and personal information.
- Collaborates with functional team members and with HR in achieving results.
