The RDM Senior Accounting Analyst position within Deluxe Financial Services business unit (FS) is responsible for leading the month-end close process to ensure that the accounting activities are completed in a timely and accurate matter and that both segment and corporate deadlines are met. Primary activities include the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and ownership over the RDM accounting function. The role will collaborate with FS Finance, Corporate Finance, and leaders within the business.
Accounting Process Owner
•Coordinate the accounting month-end close process including journal entries, journal entry review, revenue recognition, trial balance loads, system tie-out’s, etc.
•Ensure financials are produced accurately and timely
•Ownership of the SOX processes
•Balance sheet reconciliation preparation and review
•Apply GAAP knowledge to financials to address new standards and changes in the business
•Interface with FS accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate month end close
•Interface with FS FP&A team regarding current month results and items with forecast implications
•Primary contact for activities and questions related to RDM accounting
•Willingness to learn about the business to understand drivers of revenue and operating income
Continuous Process Improvement
•Identify and implement process improvements in the monthly accounting close
•Operate with a continuous improvement mindset
•Seek ways to reduce redundancies and drive efficiencies
Ad hoc support for business partners and other duties as determined by management.
•Collaboration with FP&A in analysis of business and support during budgeting process
•Ownership over audit activities

•Bachelors (or equivalent experience)
•Accounting or Finance
•5+ years of experience
•Critical thinking skills
•Experience leading finance/accounting teams
•Experience owning the month end close process
•Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting
•Experience with analytics including historical trending, building and monitoring KPI’s, finding insights in large sets of data
•Experience with working in accounting software packages
•Must be able to work with a sense of urgency
•Ability to collaborate and influence cross functionally
•Ability to troubleshoot, identify the root cause of, develop and implement effective solutions to problems
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in preparing summaries.
•Ability to challenge partners and be an effective steward of the finances of Deluxe Corporation
•Experience with MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•Excel modeling skills
•Organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
